Principal’s Post…

  • Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving- it was a well needed 5 day break (with an extra added bonus day). The students came back with a new refreshed energy that will hopefully get them through this month!!
  • Parent/Teacher Conferences were a success! Many parents were accommodated with an opportunity to check on their child’s progress.  I am hearing many wonderful things about the fun, enriched learning  experiences going on in our classrooms! Kudos to all our great  teachers and students! Keep up the great work!! If you were not able to meet with your teacher on Tuesday, please contact your child’s teacher to set up an appointment. Most teachers have already reached out and are eager to discuss your child’s progress with you.
  • Book Fair was a complete success! Both students and parents had an opportunity to shop. Students and teachers ended up with many wonderful titles to promote a love of reading!
  • Grades 2 and 3 are completing their Potter League for Animals Program with great success! They are learning information about the local animals here in Tiverton as well as how to take care of various types of pets! Great job grade 2 and 3!!
  • Fun Fridays have been a treat for all the students demonstrating good behaviors during the week!! I have seen a decline in PINK behavior sheets from this time last year and hope this trend continues. I am very proud of all students who are able to participate in these fun activities each week!
  • Pocasset PAWS have been awarded to many of our students here!! Students that are caught exhibiting Positive Actions are entered to win weekly prizes. Everyone looks forward to Friday afternoons with fingers and toes crossed in hopes their PAW print is called! Positive Actions are Welcome (PAWs) here at Pocasset School!!
  • December 21st is our annual jamboree event! Students receive extra recess for positive behaviors! If you would like to volunteer to help please look for the Sign up Genius in your email!! Please make sure you have your BCI check complete!!
  • ABSENCES- Parents are requested to notify the school when their child will be absent due to illness, appointment, etc. All families that do not call the school to report an absence will receive a ROBO-Call from the district to alert them of a child’s absence.
  • ROBO CALLS/Emails- Please make sure the office has your most up to date information as ALL information is communicated through this automated program.
