  • All state and district assessments are completed and all students showed great growth! WAY to GO Pocasset!

  • We had an eventful end of year with many activities and field trips!

  • Our Memorial Day Celebration was amazing! So many members of our Pocasset families came to honor those who served or are serving our country. It was a beautiful tribute as each student held our Flag, recited the Pledge of Allegiance, and sang Patriotic songs. A big Thank You to Senator Felag, Rep J. Edwards, Town Council Member J. Edwards and School Committee Member Sally Black for joining us to honor our Veterans.

  • Field Day was AMAZING!!  Water games, tug-o-war, dancing with DJ Mike and of course the cool down from our very own Tiverton Fire Department were just some of the fun activities students experienced this year! Fun was had by all!!

  •  Ten of Pocasset's students earned the reward of Silly Stringing the Principal for collecting the most Box Tops throughout the school year. Over 25,000 Box Tops were collected helping our school cash in!! Start collecting NOW for next year's exciting challenges!!

  • BBQ lunch was a huge success too. Students and their families enjoyed hot dogs, hamburgers, pasta salad, and watermelon while picnicking outside in the beautiful weather.

  • Field Trips and fun end of year activities were a blast!

      - Kindergarteners worked on science experiments with our friends from POW Science.
     - Grade 1
went to BCC to visit their Technology/STEM Lab.

    - Grade 2 went to see Pete the Cat at the Zeiterion Theater.

    - Grade 3 will visit Plimoth Plantation soon.

    - Grade 4 enjoyed many trips and activities; they went to the RISD museum to check out the Art Exhibits, they will visit the State House to participate in a mock hearing on the State House Floor, and share their final moments at Pocasset with their teachers and friends.

  • I want to thank everyone for a super second year. It was a pleasure working with all the students, staff and parents here at Pocasset. I look forward to August 31 and another fun filled year!!

Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year at Pocasset School!

I want to welcome back all our returning Pocasset families and staff as well as extend a warm welcome to all the new families and staff that will be joining our school family this year! I hope you all had a spectacular vacation and everyone is excited for the new school year.

This year will again hold many new and exciting things!! We have a terrific staff returning as well as a few new members. Mrs. Edwards (formerly Ms. Rapoza!) will now join our second grade team and new teacher to Pocasset, Ms. Brennan, will join our special education team. We continue year two of our full day Kindergarten program and welcome back Mrs. Moreira who will be a part of our K team. I am confident your child will have an amazing experience at Pocasset this year as the teachers and I are eager to make your child’s learning fun and motivating.

To ensure your child has the best educational experience here at Pocasset, I ask that you become involved as much as possible in your child’s academic career. Simple things like asking about your child’s day, ensuring your child completes all homework assignments, reading with them, communicating with your child’s teacher, making sure your child attends and arrives to school on time every day, and volunteering are great ways to do so.  Volunteers are important resources in any school and here at Pocasset we can always use your help in the Library, Literacy Closet, and within the classrooms.  The PTO is also a great way to get involved!

Our district has embraced the technology revolution by providing us with many tools that allow us to communicate in more quick manners. I urge everyone to make sure your child’s teacher and the main office have the most up to date email addresses and cell phone numbers to ensure you receive the many announcements, invitations, and information our school will deliver via these systems. Also, please check our school webpage frequently for newsletters, announcements, calendar of events, lunch menus, school supplies and much more!   http://pocasset.tivertonschools.org/

Here’s to a fantastic school year!
