Congratulations to TIverton High School which was named to the 2023 AP School Honor Roll! The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP program are delivering results and broadening access for students. Schools can earn the Honor Roll recognition annually based on their ability to increase their school’s college-going culture, to provide opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximize college readiness.
Congratulations to our 2023 Tiverton District Teacher of the Year, Staci Del Deo, who was honored at the Rhode Island Department of Education’s WaterFire celebration in Providence.
TMS Trimester Dates 23/24
The Tiverton Middle School Mock Trial Team is a competitive group of students in grades 6-8 who prosecute and defend a mock case in a Rhode Island courtrooms. Students perform as attorneys and witnesses to present the facts of the case to a jury. Under the leadership of Attorney Jeffrey Sowa and teacher advisor Christine Costa, students learn to write and deliver persuasive arguments and develop their public speaking skills. The team participates in two regular-season trials each year. Students interested in trying out for the team must complete the registration form by the day before tryouts. Fort Barton’s third graders met with NASA astronauts this week. The astronauts chatted with our students while floating through space! Our students then we’re lucky enough to learn even more in person with Dr. Ingrid Daubar of Brown University and the NASA jet propulsion project. Our teachers are getting ready for their students! All teachers Grades K - 5, special educators and reading specialists are participating in Volume 2 LETRS training. This comprehensive professional learning will provide our educators with deep knowledge to be literacy and language experts in the science of reading. Our very own LETRS specialists - Ginny Curtis, Beth Kilborn, Susan Cardoza and Jill Godbout - are conducting the training over the next two days!
